Welcome to Barley & Salt, the biggest taphouse in Mount Washington Valley and one of the most exciting restaurants in North Conway, NH. 30 rotating craft beers are always on tap, seasonal cocktails keep things fresh, and the food takes your taste buds on a world tour. Our kitchen, led by Chef Bryan Lantagne, turns fresh, local ingredients into next-level international street food.
Barley & Salt was founded by North Conway entrepreneur and hospitality veteran Ben Williams. In the kitchen, Partner Chef Bryan Lantagne brings serious culinary chops and a farm-to-table philosophy — when he’s not behind the stove, you’ll find him on his small farm with his wife and two kids. Out front, Managing Partner Brie Welch — a North Conway native who honed her skills out west between ski runs — makes sure the vibe stays as welcoming as the beer is cold. Together, they’ve built something the valley is pretty proud of.

Step inside and you’ll know right away this isn’t your average taphouse. In a valley full of American pub-style restaurants, we’ve always done things our own way — from the internationally inspired kitchen to the thoughtfully designed space. Crafted by Boston-based Prellwitz Chilinski Associates, our room brings together warm brick walls, striking tilework, and statement chandeliers, because the right atmosphere makes that first pint taste even better.
Yep, we’ve got the Guy Fieri seal of approval! Barley & Salt was featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and Guy’s Grocery Games. Guy couldn’t get enough of Chef Bryan’s bold, globally inspired flavors and trust us, you won’t either.
